Shed Goes Up in Flames in Mount Eliza

At 6.42am Saturday 30th July 2016, Mt Eliza Fire Brigade and Mornington Fire Brigades were paged to a machinery shed fire on Sunnyside Rd, Mt Eliza.

Upon arrival, thick black smoke could be seen coming from the shed. Mornington were first to arrive on scene, and due to the location and the nature of the fire, 2 additional fire trucks where immediately requested to respond, in addition to the two fire trucks that initially responded to the first call. With great teamwork between the two brigades, the fire was contained and extinguished very quickly.

The occupants did very well to meet us at the front entry and provide directions to the shed as it is a very large property.

The fire highlighted the need for all businesses to have well maintained and appropriate extinguishers. The occupants of this fire should be credited as fire extinguishers were used to assist with the extinguishing of the fire.

If you would like any assistance or have any queries regarding fire extinguishers please do not hesitate to contact the Mt Eliza Fire Brigade.
