Celebrating 88 years of volunteer service to the community
More than 24 CFA Brigades and 41 appliances, including a number of water bombing aircraft attended an out of control grass fire in Somerville on Tuesday 23rd February on Frankston-Flinders road near Raymond Street shortly after 2pm.
On Thursday 4th February, Mt Eliza Fire Brigade attended a small grass fire on the cliff of Daveys Bay Beach. CFA crews from Mt Eliza and Frankston Fire Brigades were able to bring the fire under control quickly thanks to milder weather conditions.
At 9:50am on Tuesday 19th January, Mt Eliza Fire Brigade was responded to a person and dog stuck on a ledge in Moorooduc Quarry.
At 6:30pm Wednesday 13/01/2016, the Brigade responded to a paddock fire on a property on Cobb Rd.
On Wednesday 16th December at 3.55pm, the Brigade responded to a bush fire near Wooralla Drive and Maughan Road. On arrival, support from Baxter, Moorooduc and Mornington Fire Brigades was immediately requested.
Mt Eliza Fire Brigade would like to advise the Fire Danger Period has commenced as of Monday 30th November, 2015 and will be in effect until Sunday 1st May, 2016.

Mt Eliza Fire Brigade will be holding an Open Day on Sunday, November 29. Whilst we are always open, this is an excellent opportunity for all our community to come and see what our volunteers actually do. We will have numerous displays running, demonstrating the importance of fire safety in the home. There will also be plenty of activities for the kids to enjoy, as well as a sausage sizzle for all attending.
As I take over as Captain of Mount Eliza Fire Brigade I wish to acknowledge the members of the previous Brigade Management Team who have returned to the ranks of the Brigade; Richard Hume (Captain); Christopher Nicholson (1st Lieutenant) and Brett Nicholson (3rd Lieutenant). Their contribution to the Brigade and the community over the last six years has been invaluable.
