Bushfire in Maughan Road

On Wednesday 16th December at 3.55pm, the Brigade responded to a bush fire near Wooralla Drive and Maughan Road. On arrival, support from Baxter, Moorooduc and Mornington Fire Brigades was immediately requested. The fire, about 100m² in size took 90 minutes to control due to the complexity of reaching the seat of the fire. There was no threat to homes during the incident.

We would like to give a special thankyou to the member of the public who supplied 2 slabs of drinking water and a bag of ice to rehydrate the 30+ volunteer firefighters on scene. Six appliances were on scene for over 3 hours.
