Fire Danger Period has ceased

The CFA ended the fire danger period early on Monday 11th April 2016 for residents within the Mornington Peninsula Shire Council area.

So what does that mean in regards to burning off?

During the fire danger period you cannot light a fire in the open air unless you have a permit or comply with certain requirements.

Now that we are out of the fire dander period, any fires lit must comply with the Mornington Peninsula Shires Open Air Burning Guidelines which can be found here:

http://www.mornpen.vic.gov.au/…/Fire_Emerg…/Open_Air_Burning

Different councils have different burning regulations, so if you live within another council area you will need to check their burn regulations.

If you are still unsure whether you can or cannot burn off or to find out the size of your property call the Mornington Shire Customer Service Team on 1300 850 600

Additional information can also be found on our Fire Restrictions Page.
