BA Skills Maintenance Training Night
On Tuesday for the Brigade’s weekly training night, members participated in Breathing Apparatus skills maintenance session in preparation for the introduction of new BA sets for emergency service responders, including Vic Police, MFB and Ambulance Victoria.
The training night consisted of members in pairs wearing BA while completing the following drills:
- Rolling out 45 metres of dead real hose and winding it back up
- Walking around the station carrying firefighting tools such as quick-attack pack, axe or halligan tool
- Crawling through an obstacle course
- Dummy drag
- Carrying a ladder around the station
This was a great opportunity for existing members to refresh their knowledge and skills in a safe environment and for newer recruits to learn more about using this personal protective equipment before undergoing their competency and training.
