Teaching Children About Fire Through CFA’s Fire Safe Kids Program
On Thursday 16th June the Mt Eliza Fire Brigade visited our local Guardian Childcare & Education in Mt Eliza.
Fire Safe Kids presenter Maddie explained the importance of fire safety in the home and showed the children what they can do in the event of a fire.
Firefighter Hamish donned the breathing apparatus so show the children what a firefighter looks and sounds like when entering a house. Although we look a little scary the fire brigade is here to help. The children had a great time showing us how good they were at getting down low and go, go, going and Stop, Drop & Rolling!!!
But the highlight for the children was the Fire Truck and thankfully the rain held off and they were able to shoot some water after having a look at the inside of the truck.
Visiting schools and preschools is an integral part of CFA’s service to the community.
Fire Safe Kids is CFA’s flagship education program for primary and pre-primary students. It’s delivered by firefighters who visit your school with an engaging and interactive presentation.
