The Fire Danger Period is based on local conditions that lead to increased fire risk for your location.
This means you cannot light a fire in the open air unless you have a permit or comply with certain requirements.
Mt Eliza Fire Brigade would like to advise the Fire Danger Period has commenced as of Monday 18th December, 2017 until 1st May 2018.
Mornington Peninsula Shire’s Open Air Burning Local Law regulates burning off outside of the Declared Fire Danger Period. As per previous years, restrictions will be eased during the month of October 2017 to enable landowners on smaller properties to burn off for fire prevention purposes.

CFA has concluded the Fire Danger Period for Mornington Peninsula Shire as of 1:00am Monday 27th March 2017.
Any fire lit in the open air must comply with Mornington Peninsula Shire’s By Laws.
The Fire Danger Period will commence at 1:00am Monday 19th December 2016.
A bushfire information session will be held at Mt Eliza Fire Station on Sunday 23rd October 2016 at 10:00am.

For the month of October 2016 Open Air Burning is permitted only on Fridays and Saturdays between 9am and 4pm on land less than 1500 square metres provided that:
The CFA ended the fire danger period early on Monday 11th April 2016 for residents within the Mornington Peninsula Shire Council area.
